 WE ARE LOOKING FOR SUPPORT ACTS 

Calling all budding Tuawahine! Tuawahine is looking for a talented support acts! 

The Tuawahine crew is all about uplifting women and shining a light on female talent. So, we thought we’d search for an undiscovered talent in each of the towns  we’re bringing the show to later this summer

Want to get your music in front of legendary kiwi performers like Anika Moa,  Annie Crummer and Tami Neilson?

Would you jump at the opportunity to perform alongside them?

​

Do you have what it takes to hold your own on the stage with them?

Requirements

You should:

​

  • Be a female or identify as female

  • Be a confident public performer

  • Be of any age (under 16 will need to be chaperoned) 

  • Have a minimum 20 minute, maximum 30 minute set of mostly original songs (some covers are OK)

  • Be a solo artist or part of a Group. Note: If you are part of a group you must be the main songwriter/singer

  • Be from either Wellington or the Wellington Region, Hawkes Bay Region, Auckland Region

  • Have the ability to get to the venue yourself (No travel provided)

  • Be available for a soundcheck and performance at the show in your region (Auckland 2 March, Havelock North 3 March, Wellington 10 March)

What You Win:

​

  • A slot as the named support act for the Tuawahine Show in your region

  • A performance fee of: $500

  • A chance to perform a song with the Tuawahine cast as part of the Tuawahine show

  • A chance to meet and hang out with the amazing wahine of Tuawahine

  • 2 x Tickets to the Tuawahine show for your friends and family

What should you do?

Complete the form and include:

 

  • A video of you/you and your band performing one song to us

  • A short bio about yourself

  • Your contact details: Name, Email, Phone Number, Links to socials

Note: This video be a live record of a show or just you, on your own. The video can be professionally made or recorded on a phone as long as you send it to us as either an MP4 or WMV file and as long as the recording of the song and the performance is clear.


What will happen next?

​

  • We’ll look at all the videos and make a short list for each region

  • The Tuawahine themselves will then review the shortlisted artists and select ONE artist in each of the regions we are visiting this March

  • If you’re selected we’ll be in touch by 10th Feb!
